Personal bio:
Has already enjoyed a very successful international rowing career,
competing for both Canada and the USA. Was part of the men’s 4 that won
the worlds in 1999 for the US and finalist in the 2000 Olympics finishing
7th (men’s quad). Took 2 yrs to study and for a mountaineering accident,
which meant a shoulder reconstruction he came back and moved across to the
Canadian team, coached by Mike Spracklen. In 2003 he won the World
Championship in the men’s 4 and in Athens 2004 Olympics won the silver
medal (men’s four).Rowed with fellow team mate Barney Williams (Boat race
winner 2005) with Canada in the World’s and Olympics and he was a big
influence in him coming to Oxford, as well as the educational
opportunities. Plans to return to Canada after his year in Oxford to
continue rowing and prepare for the next Olympics.
