American oarsman Adam Kosmicki said rowing in the Boat Race – sponsored
by Xchanging – is a huge honour.
Kosmicki, who was today (Monday) named in the Oxford Blue Boat for this
year’s race, already has two victories under his belt the Harvard
eight in the Harvard-Yale Races in 2005 and 2006.
“Obviously being involved in the Boat Race is a huge opportunity and
honour,” he said. “Things are going well and I’m definitely enjoying
it.“
Kosmicki said he sees the Boat Race as the natural progression from the
Harvard-Yale Race.
“It’s a logical progression,” he said. “It’s a great opportunity
to race with and against some of the best guys in the world.”
The 2007 Boat Race brings Kosmicki up against Kip McDaniel in the Cambridge
crew. McDaniel stroked the Harvard eight in the Harvard-Yale Race
immediately before Kosmicki.
“I’ve got a tremendous amount of respect for him as a rower and as a
guy and I’m looking forward to rowing against him.”
The 2007 Boat Race, sponsored by Xchanging, gets underway at 4.30pm on
Saturday 7th April.
