"We're going to go out and do what we do best'Issue Date: 2007-03-12

Cambridge rower Dan O’Shaughnessy is enjoying his first experience of the Boat Race, which is sponsored by Xchanging.

“It’s definitely going to be the biggest sporting event I’ve been a part of,” said the Canadian, who was named in the Cambridge Blue Boat today (Monday).

“We don’t have to re-invent the wheel on race day. We’re going to go out and do what we do best, which is to race for four and a quarter miles.

“We’re definitely quietly confident. We’ve been doing a lot of racing and it’s going really well. We’re taking care of our own business, focussing on moving our boat. We want to win this one. If we take care of our own business we can do that.

“The whole experience is incredible. It’s totally different to any other event in the world. The training has been amazing and the whole atmosphere of the team has been incredible.”

The 2007 Boat Race is sponsored by Xchanging and takes place at 4.30pm on Saturday 7th April.
